One can’t help but plunge into the depths of this one of a kind substantial unheated Montana sapphire. The blue-green color of this gem is enlivened by silken wisp inclusions that shimmer in the sunlight like a mountain lake in summer. It’s rare to find a Montana sapphire over 1 carat in size, so you can imagine that I simply freaked when I found this 3.28-carat sapphire from one of my favorite American grandpa gem cutters. To illuminate the dark intensity of this extraordinarily rare gem, I set it in a custom art deco platinum ring with vintage reclaimed diamonds. A swooping intricately sculpted scallop lattice pattern encircles the gallery of the setting.
