Center Stone: 1.01 Carat 5.98mm Round Natural Sapphire from Madagascar (GIA Report #5192797792)

Sapphires, such as this fine gem, are typically heated to bring out their color, no chemical treatments are used.

We consider sapphires from Madagascar to be ethical as the local miners make 25x the national average wage. Like all mined materials there are some issues with the environmental impact of mining but by in large Madagascar is one of the most ethical sources for sapphires.
